NADOI Eligibility Calculator

By NADOI

To apply for Certified Membership, you must have two types of experience:

  • At least five (5) years hands-on experience in dog obedience training
  • At least five (5) years experience as a lead instructor

Your experience must include:

  • Having worked with a minimum of 100 dog-and-handler teams
    AND
    • Having taught at least 104 hours as a Group Instructor*
      OR
    • Having taught at least 288 hours as a Private Instructor*
      OR
    • Having taught a combination of group and private instruction to meet the minimum qualifications stated above.
    *Note: Shadow, Apprentice and Assistant hours do not count.

The answers to these questions will help determine if you are eligible to apply for Certified Membership in NADOI:

To certify dog obedience instructors of the highest caliber, to provide continuing education and learning resources to those instructors, and to continue to promote humane, diverse and effective training methods and competent instruction.
