MOVEMENT MARKERS 3 DAY CLINIC BEHAVIORAL CUES FOR PROBLEM SOLVING SIERRA VISTA, AZ 4224 S. Kino Rd. Sierra Vista, AZ 85650 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Check In 8:30 am Friday Location: The clinic will be held at the 50 acre Arizona Doggy Dude Ranch, in scenic Sierra Vista, AZ, 1.5 hr SE of Tucson. Tucson is the nearest airport, but depending on your point of departure, there may be direct flights into Phoenix, which will add 3 hours of driving time. Driving directions to the ranch will be provided upon registration. Clinic contents and format: The three day format is a participatory hands-on skills building workshop focused on identifying, assessing, using, and transforming structural and movement cues to aid in behavioral and sports training. This is the most comprehensive look at movement analysis and its correlations to behavioral restructuring and sports development that exists in workshop format. Because of the detailed nature of the subject material, every effort has been made to create teaching modules where all students will be learning simultaneously to maximize the learning experience. Some exercises will be visual, most will be hands on. The Movement Markers 3 Day Curriculum will be sent to all inquiries as well. Cost: Cost is $975.00. A registration form must be submitted to hold a working slot. A Non-Refundable Deposit of $425.00 must be paid to confirm that slot. If life happens, and you are unable to attend the workshop, the deposit may be applied to another Canine Kinaesthetics clinic of any sort within two years of the date of payment. The balance of the fee must be paid on or before 60 days before the start of the workshop. Lunches and breakfast noshes are amply provided. Class Size limit: Attendance will be limited to 6 working slots. Participants may bring one dog except by prior arrangement. This is a very hands on clinic where we will often be working on all the dogs simultaneously, so no HA (human aggressive) or DA (dog aggressive) dogs will be allowed. Also, because of liability limitations, no bully, bully cross, mastiff or mastiff cross breeds will be allowed. Participants should bring their own crate. Dogs must be crate trained as we will be rotating the dogs we are working with continually throughout the three days. Crate trained means that your dog goes in their crate and hangs out quietly. We are trying to create the best living laboratory for learning possible. All dogs need to have on or available a well fitted martingale style collar for specific balance and handling reasons, no exceptions. A handout will be provided to clinic attendees on proper martingale fit. Instructor: Classes will be taught by Maryna Ozuna, the founder of Canine Kinaesthetics(1982), and owner and trainer at Arizona Doggy Dude Ranch (2000). Maryna has been the featured speaker at both the NADOI (National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors) National Conference 2019 and the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals) National Conference (2x). She has been involved with sports and movement her whole life, starting the first girls’ soccer league in upstate NY (still in existence) and becoming the first woman soccer referee in NY State at the age of 16. She spent more than a decade deeply immersed in the equestrian world traveling with sport horses to World Equestrian Games in Stockholm and Rome, achieving juried international press credentials with the International Association of Equestrian Journalists and training and competing in the sport of endurance riding herself. Similarly, she has consulted all over the world in the canine community, setting up sports therapy programs for a sled dog kennel in Germany, and teaching the Canine Kinaesthetics system of hands on therapy for dogs for the last 30+ years. The Movement Markers workshops were developed in response to a need to reestablish core movement knowledge for those involved in the world of dog at many different levels. Content: Join us to learn: - How to analyze movement as a component to deciphering the roots of a dog's behavioral problems. - An alphabet of key canine anatomical landmarks that contain the tells to behavior. - How to build layers of conformation and movement analysis including overall physical integrity and balance, proportions, straightness, angulation, recruitment, points of balance, rhythmicity, and gait patterns to create a training profile. - How developmental stage, drive levels, pack status levels, arousal, injury or other factors affect the conformation and movement training profile. - How to use Movement Marker's analysis to assess a dog's trainability threshold, their ability to absorb and utilize training information and how that information informs training solutions. - How impairments or irregularities in a dog's movement can directly impact their ability to properly communicate and socialize with other dogs, contributing to their behavioral issues. - How to develop methodologies for rehabilitating dogs whose movement integrity has been compromised due to modern urban and suburban environments. - Proper dog husbandry techniques to positively improve a dog's movement. - The 6-Step Protocolto assess a dog's physical integrity through simple hands-on soft tissue techniques. - How to use the Canine Kinaesthetics Protocol to soften, stretch, release, reintegrate and improve the quality of a dog's movement. - How to improve handler/trainer's cue precision, body language and their quality of movement to more accurately and efficiently train the dog.
