NADOI is pleased to announce the election of new members to our board of directors. Effective March 1, 2019, Clare Reece-Glore of North Carolina will step into the role of president, Anita Crafton of Idaho will take on the position of treasurer, and Susan Jenkins from Ohio will serve as director.

“NADOI welcomes these outstanding members into their offices. Each has a proven record of service to our organization and will bring their individual talents and energies to our organization. Their election will ensure that NADOI will continue to represent and certify the very best in dog obedience trainers and instructors,” says Helen Cariotis, past president and Election Committee Chairman.

Clare Reece-Glore, NADOI #1112, received her BA from Guilford College and an MS in Adult Education from North Carolina A&T State University. Clare is the owner of a certified therapy dog and has volunteered with vetstovetsunited.org. She has been training pet dogs professionally for 9 years and served as the Chairman for the 2018 NADOI Annual Gathering.

Susan Jenkins, NADOI #624, has been in active in obedience for over 30 years, competing to multiple advance titles. She has recently also started competing in agility, again gaining advance titles. Susan also participates in rally, agility, conformation and field work with her Labrador Retrievers, having received multiple UKC Grand Champions and her first AKC Grand. Susan is an active member of her church, having a Master’s in Biblical Studies and Theology.

Anita Crafton, NADOI #463, is an Honorary Life Member of NADOI, having earned her certification in 1984. Anita has served on the board of directors and many committees during her years with NADOI. Anita taught dog obedience classes in Twin Falls, Idaho from 1977 to 2006. Since retiring from part-time teaching and her full-time job at the University of Idaho, she has remained active in administrative support activities, such as website and database development.

NADOI was founded in 1965 to elevate the standards of the dog instructing profession, to aid both dog and human in the solution of the many problems associated with dog ownership, and to endorse competent instructors as having attained the skills and knowledge necessary to serve those ends.
