March 2013 KENNEBUNK, MAINE: "All About Dogs" with George Quinlan (NADOI #749-Certified) made its TV debut on Monday, February 25, 2013! The show will cover topics from picking the best dog for the family to finding the best trainer. It will include fun ways to train your dog through playing games.

The public is being encouraged to call or email [] requests for topics as we move down the issues they face as dog owners in the city as well as rural areas.

December 2012 Member Millie Williams # 791 has written a book, The Watching: Corgi Christmas Miracles, that is nominated for the prestigious Maxwell Award. The award is bestowed by the Dog Writers Association of America, and presented at their dinner in February at the time of the Westminster KC dog show in NYC. Millie is well known in dog circles for her 'Watching' series of books. Featuring corgis and illustrated by talented dog lovers, each new book is eagerly awaited at Christmas-time. Proceeds from the sale of these books benefit CorgiAid, a charity that helps with medical care and other needs to get corgis and obvious corgi mixes ready to go to new homes. November 2012 Betsy Blackford's Australian Shepherd, Boca, finished her CPE C-ATCH. The C-ATCH is Canine Performance Event's (CPE) agility Champion title. it is awarded on completion of the 60 qualifying runs (Qs) required. The 60 Qs include 10 standard Qs and 5 Qs each in six different games. Some games are for fun while others test the handling, distance, and speed skills of the team.

July 2012 Norma Rust #459 reports a wonderful story about her mini-poodle, OTCH Sandstorm Pardon My Dust VCD3 UDX3 OM2 TDX MX MXJ. Recently, she was called to help locate a missing service dog on I-10 about 25 miles east of El Paso, TX. The disabled person who owned the dog was beside herself with worry, of course. Although the track was more than 24 hours old, Cowboy found the missing dog in the rain, huddled behind a brick wall. Due to the weather conditions, Norma did not even see the service dog at first. Norma said Cowboy had not tracked in more than two years. No one could believe a mini-poodle could do it, but he did. Congrats to Norma and Cowboy!

March 2012 Hoosier, a Shar Pei owned by Lois Brown #772, was chosen to be on a card by American Greetings. It will be out in November of 2012

January 2012 Vivian Bregman and Sugah placed thirteenth in the AKC Obedience Invitational. Sugah (also known as AKC & ASCA OTCh, UKC GUOCH, Sunrise MsSugah of Kelev VER, UDX 7 OM 8, RN) was second in the Herding Group and won the Border Collie Club's Medal for highest scoring Border Collie in the competition. Congratulations Vivian and Sugah!

January 2012 The series on Working with Aggression written by Jan Gribble and published in ForwarD is a finalist in the 2011 DWAA writing competition. Winners will be announced at the DWAA banquet on February 12, 2012

August 2011 NADOI congratulates member Vivian Bregman (and her dog Sugah) for qualifying for the AKC invitational in Florida. Vivian is a highly respected obedience competitor and instructor. Sugah is her second dog to earn at OTCh from AKC, UKC and ASCA. Best wishes to Vivian and Sugah!

May 2011 Colorado Correctional Industries, Prison Trained K9 Companion Program, started in October of 2002 by Nadoi Member Debi Stevens # 727 is celebrating the Rescue and Placement of over 2000 Dogs. Congratulations, Debi!

January 2011 NADOI loses another unforgettable member and friend. Dick Russell of Greenwell Springs, LA, passed away January 6, 2011 after a 6 year battle with cancer. The popular dog trainer was featured in an article in Baton Rouge’s 225 Magazine just days before his passing.

December 2010 NADOI has lost a long-time member and friend. On 23 Dec. 2010, Roy Hunter passed away. He shared his joy and vast knowledge of dog training in both his native Great Britain and here in the United States. His legacy will live on in the people he touched and their dogs.

October 2010 Congratulations to Heddie Leger for her work in helping develop the Missouri Department of Corrections “Puppies for Parole” Program in collaboration with St. Joseph Animal Shelter and Western Reception Diagnostic and Correctional Center. The program has been selected to receive the Governors Award for Quality and Productivity.
